Actor, Improvisor, Director, Voice Actor, Teacher. Flavien is a french and portuguese born in Switzerland in 1980.
He lives between his new home in the french mountains and the big world. He has travelled 27 countries and improvises in french, english, german, portuguese, italian and spanish. Flavien encountered performing arts as a teenager through circus and theatre.
Randomly fallen into the realm of improv when he was 16, he has been performing and transmitting his passion for theatre and improvisation for more than 20 years and all around the world.
In 2003, he founded a professional improvisation Company: Le Théâtre de l’Oignon in which he works as an artistic director, metteur en scène and performer.
He created dozens of original formats and his signature format Random which is performed by many groups worldwide.
He’s also a happy member of Ohana, an international exchange platform around improvisation gathering 50 members and 20 nationalities. Graduated from Strasbourg ‘s University and Conservatoire in Drama, he created the Théâtre de l’Oignon Company to explore bridges between improvised music and theatre with Jazz musicians from the Conservatoire. Alongside improv he performs for cinema, television, theatre, at the National Opéra du Rhin and he’s also the voice of many of Arte’s Tv chanel programs.
He’s been awarded best supporting actor twice in Film Festivals in Chile and the USA for his part in “The Hen”. Currently he is writing, performing and directing in a webseries all the while following up with creations and tours with The Company.
In his free time he loves drumming, scubadiving, darts and lately exploring DIY skills in a place that will soo host improv retreats in the Alsatian countryside.
Flavien has been our special advisor at LIF since the creation of the festival. He officiates as our ambassador and connects us with fantastic perfomers encoutered around the world.
